FIRE CHIEF CHUCK BARNWELL
Chief Chuck Barnwell began his career with Carroll County Fire Rescue in 1989 as a Junior Volun
teer Firefighter before becoming a full-time Firefighter in 1992. He served CCFR for a total of 11 years, working his way up through the ranks from Lieutenant to Station Chief before joining the Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services in 1999. With 22 years of service at GFES, he has served at all levels of the fire service to include: Firefighter, Driver Engineer, Lieutenant, Captain and most recently as a Battalion Chief over the county’s Fire Training Academy.
He is proud to have successfully obtained his Associates Degree in Fire Science from West Georgia Technical College and Bachelor of Science Degree in Fire Administration from Bowling Green State University.
Chief Barnwell is excited to be back where he started, to serve the citizens of Carroll County. He remains a resident of Carroll County with his wife of 27 years, Kelly. Together they have raised three children. They are members of First Baptist Church of Villa Rica and are avid Atlanta Falcons, Braves and Hawks fans.
